CatchLight Systems Administrator

Position Summary

The Systems Administrator supports CatchLight’s internal technology systems and provides day-to-day help desk and operational support to staff. This role ensures that employees have reliable access to tools, accounts and systems needed to do their work efficiently, while also supporting core administrative and organizational functions. The position is hands-on, service-oriented and does not include people management.

Key Responsibilities

Technology & Systems Support

  • Provide help desk support for staff, including troubleshooting login issues, password resets and basic hardware and software problems
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and access across systems (email, collaboration tools, CRM, file storage, etc.)
  • Onboard and offboard employees and contractors, including account setup and system access
  • Maintain documentation for systems, processes and common support issues
  • Maintain an accessible password management system
  • Coordinate with external IT vendors or service providers as needed
  • Support system updates, security best practices and routine maintenance
  • Assist with technology-related projects and operational improvements

 

Operations & Administrative Support

  • Coordinate team gatherings and internal meetings
  • Support in Board coordination including, but not limited to, coordinating calendars, scheduling Board meetings and routing Board communications
  • Support in seasonal fellowship coordination including, but not limited to, interview scheduling and background checks.
  • Organize and maintain office systems and supplies
  • Scan and archive mail and important documents
  • Coordinate organization-wide mailings including greeting cards, gear and conference materials as required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in systems administration, IT support, help desk, or operations roles
  • Familiarity with cloud-based tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, 1Password, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple requests
  • Clear communicator with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a nonprofit, newsroom or small organization environment
  • Basic knowledge of security and access management best practices
  • Experience supporting board operations or fellowship/program administration

Deadline

Pay range DOE: $54,000–70,000

Location: SF Bay Area required

 

This is a full-time/40 hours a week position and is grant-financed with funding secured for two years, with the possibility to extend beyond the initial time-frame.
